I'LL DO IT TOMORROW
MOM:
Hey what are you doing?
AMY:
Cindy let me borrow this video. I've been dying to watch it.
MOM:
What about your English paper?
AMY:
I'll do it.
MOM:
When?
AMY:
Don't worry, I'll do it.
MOM:
Okay great but when?
AMY:
After the video alright?
MOM:
You said you'd do it yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, and…
AMY:
Relax Mom, I've got plenty of time.
MOM:
Plenty of time? Isn't it due tomorrow?
AMY:
Mom, it's only 6:30. It won't take more than a couple of hours. Don't worry.
MOM:
I can't help but worry. You procrastinate so much, it's going to get you into trouble someday.
AMY:
I don't procrastinate so much.
MOM:
Oh really? You said you were going to do it Sunday night.
AMY:
Well I forgot about youth group.
MOM:
Then you assured me that you'd have it done before you went to bed Monday night.
AMY:
I was tired Monday night. I went to bed early.
MOM:
Then Tuesday you got all bent out of shape because I reminded you again.
AMY:
Well gee no kidding Mom. You only humiliated me in front of Greg.
MOM:
Dirty job, but someones's gotta do it.
AMY:
Funny.
MOM:
Then yesterday, what was it?
AMY:
I needed to go to the store with Cindy.
MOM:
Oh that's right, you NEEDED to.
AMY:
Well yeah. What if she went to the mall and saw Brian or something, well she'd just die if I weren't there with her.
MOM:
Heaven forbid. What was I thinking?
AMY:
Really Mom.
MOM:
And you can't understand why I'm concerned? What's it going to be tonight? What is going to be more important than getting this paper done?
AMY:
Mom, I said I'd do it just…
MOM:
…as soon as I'm done watching this video.
AMY:
Which you are preventing me from doing.
MOM:
Okay, but I'm going to be pretty upset if this paper doesn't get finished.
AMY:
No problem, I'm on top of it.
MOM:
Alright then I'll leave you alone so you can…
(Lights go out)
Aw great! This is just what we need.
AMY:
Oh man! I'm never going to get to see this video.
MOM:
Never mind the video. Have you forgotten that the computer runs on electricity.
AMY:
Hey that's not fair, I was going to do it tonight.
MOM:
Well let's pray that the power comes back on before too long, but let this be a lesson to you about why we shouldn't put things off. You never know what may happen the next day to prevent…
DAD:
Enters with flashlight.
Hey Honey what's going on? You did take care of that overdue power bill didn't you?
MOM:
Uh well, I was going to drop it off tomorrow…
AMY:
Mom!
